THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK is a true personal account of a life in hiding.....
Anne writes from the perspective of a young girl.So her tone is often emotional and insecure and she is so critical of herself and others. Her accounts are often personal and philosophical. She expresses her deep struggle to understand her relation with family and to the tumultuous world outside the annex.
Anne Frank's diary starts in 1942 in Holland where Anne lives with her family. Anne gets the diary as a 13th birthday present. At the start of her diary,Anne lives a pretty normal kind of life.Anne describes fairly typical girlhood experiences, about her friendships, her crushes on boys and her academic performance at school life. However, things are getting bad with the whole Nazi situation.Germany is trying to take over Europe and Hitler has imposed a lot of strict rules on the Jews. But Anne's life is okay. Then, suddenly her sister is about to get sent off to a concentration camp.So Anne's whole family move into this tiny secret space.
The diary charts Anne's life in the Secret Annexe. They all live in fear of being found and sent to their deaths. At the same time, they have to keep on living their day to day lives. So there's a lot in the book about how Anne's days go,how she feels and the daily rituals.Anne's dairy ends abruptly when she and her family are taken into custody by the Germans and transported to concentration camps.Anne's dad is the only one who survives the concentration cams.He got Anne's diary published as a tribute to her.
In Anne's diary her unique yet representative voice is preserved, that constitutes the eloquent memorial of all.....
