This story basically talks about the life of Meredith Ashe who was betrayed by her boyfriend Cy Hardens.Story focuses how Meredith had changed from her past.Meredith grows from a naive girl to a strong women.She comes back to her hometown as a head of a multinational corporation and to seek revenge on Cy's family by taking over his company.
There are also certain secrets Meredith is hiding which Cy doesn't know and she has no intention of telling him. She want Cy to believe that she is the same old girl he has abandoned years ago.This book is filled with lots of emotion. A book with revenge, hatred,and suspense and love.
When she reached her hometown she had many encounters with Cy. She plans to takeover all Cy's properties.However she couldn't. She realises that she's falling for him again.
This book also has a small flashback how Meredith became the head of a multinational corporation. As I mentioned above when she was betrayed she was forced to run way from her place.And then she goes to Chicago where she met Henry a powerful businessman.When he saw Meredith for the first time he felt bad after seeing her condition. He helped her and she tell him her whole story including a big secret that she is pregnant. Henry was a generous person and he was ready to take care of Meredith.She even had to change her physical appearance so that Cy couldn't find her.Later she was married to Henry and and the baby was named as Blake who's father is Cy still he accepted Blake as his own son. Unfortunately Henry met with a plane crash.And Meredith was shattered. But Henry was a very good teacher she taught her how to take revenge on Cy.
With that all hopes she comes to her hometown Billings.But her plans did not match with her fate.She was also haunted by others also and she couldn't help her.And later she slowly reveals her secrets to Cy.
