The girl who stood up for education and was shot by the Taliban.

The first part of the book describes the history of Pakistan ,ancient and recent .It also speaks of the pressures of everyday life. She talks about Swat valley, northern Pakistan the place where she lived and gives the reader a glimpse of the customs and cultures in Swat. Her Father Ziauddin Yousafzai is given much importance in the book. She describes his involvement in local politics and also his support of educations for boys and girls. He disobeyed the Taliban rules and orders by running a private school 'The Kushal School' which encouraged girls to learn. This clearly brings into light the roots of Malala's passion, zest and courage to stand up for women's rights .She was inspired by her fathers actions and his character. He was a man who believed that students should fight their enemy with pens, not sword.
It is a book of good learning,to know about the complexities of women's rights in some countries and their access to education. Malala tries to explain here the true importance of education. It gives the reader a sense of inspiration and admiration on how a single young voice can change the world.
