The Indian mythological stories of Shivapuran and The Mahabharat had always fascinated me. My eagerness towards the Hindu mythologies made me land at the Indian best seller,The Shiva Trilogy of Amish Tripady. The trilogy include The immortals of Meluha, The secret of the Nagas and The oath of the Vayuputras.
The plot of the story is the well known Indian myths of Lord Shiva. But what makes the story unique is that, the author claims Shiva as an ordinary man, who in the course of his life, turns to be the Mahadev - God of Gods.
"Shiva! The Mahadev; The God of Gods; Destroyer of evil; Passionate lover; Fierce warrior; consummate dancer; charismatic leader. All powerful yet incorruptible." The idol of Shiva in our minds must have been a mystical God. But what if Lord Shiva was not a figment of a rich imagination, but a person of flesh and blood.
Shiva,The Tibetan tribal leader is dragged into a series of ultimate secrets regarding his life and the mankind. The story gets philosophically complicated after every page. The trilogy is indeed a definite page turner which is well paced. It creates a need in the reader's mind and soul.Amish pens down the story very well that it compels people to go on reading for hours.
To be précised the work is indeed a tribute to the Neelakand. The hidden message that lies deep under every sentence of the book is that there is a God in every one of us.
As Amish says, "The universe bows before Lord Shiva, and I bow before Lord Shiva."
